Matthew 25:29-31
Thw Word says we(the church) are to care for those in lack of physical needs(as well as spiritual). Paul said "If a man come to you in destitute and you pray for him and send him on his way without tending to his needs, what have you done for that man!!!! Thats what we are here for!
Be ye doers of the Word
Even in the Old Testament the command was giving to take care of the widows,orphans, and strangers with the tithes and offerings! Not to keep them within our selves for bigger buildings and repaved parking lots(which if it was needed is fine). We need to share Jesus with those in need not just by mouth but by actions.We should do the things Jesus did and he met peoples needs both physically and spiritually!
